Scarecrow Creation

*Scarecrows must be handmade, not commercially produced & constructed of durable materials that will survive a month in the elements. Real pumpkin heads are not encouraged for this reason. The DDA and Scarecrow show organizers are not responsible for your scarecrow. It is your responsibility to stop by periodically throughout the month to make sure your display is in order.

*Scarecrow “spines” to use as a frame can be purchased for $40 at Wellmade Dahlonega (70 Public Sq. N, Dahlonega). Participants need to bring stakes and haybales to secure their scarecrows on the ground.

*Creative scarecrows are highly encouraged. Just make sure they are appropriate for all families viewing and follow community standards of courtesy and good sense. No likenesses or caricatures of living persons. You may have a single scarecrow or have a group setting. Dahlonega DDA reserves the right to ask a display to be removed.
